As you might have noticed, we've been having several hickups in the server's performance lately.

If time permits, I'll try to find the cause this weekend. Till then, please bear with us and notify me as soon as possible whenever it happends again.

As always, I am really sorry for the inconvenience.

And again. A bug in kscand is causing massive slow downs.

Throughout the next couple of weeks I hope to upgrade the kernel and reinstall phpBB.

Kernel is a funny word.

Anyways, I've also noticed that I can't change my avatar. When I try the resulting screen is just blank. The one after you click submit or save profile or whatever.

That bug's been here for like the past few years... I remember asking about it ...

you always seem to be having issues rippance, are you sure this server is a good and reliable one ?

Always? We're having no less issues than anyone else -- only the last couple of weeks have been exceptional.

EDIT: I'd like to add that the last couple of problems and downtime were caused by a bug in the kernel, which only seems to occur at a high number of processes.

It's as reliable as I set it up to be. I don't make it a secret that my knowledge on Linux Red Hat is limited and the server hasn't been restored into an optimal setup since the hard disk crash nearly a year ago.

Don't worry about it. I think you are doing a great job, considering that MM2 is dying (dead?). It is great that you keep it in as good shape as you do. Others would probably just let their servers die, or even worse - cancel the contract with the host, in a situation such as this one.

Yeah, I thought that was because of the multiple forum versions running here.
