Post subject: MM1 Style Rain skidding in 2? Reply with quote

I was thinking today, mm2's wet road tuning sucks whereas mm1 rain and snow tune was really slippery. Is there some way to make mm2 act the same? I have trawled through the core ar and cant find anything related to this value Neutral

It is most likely hard coded into the exe.

Nah, you can do it. You just make a custom effect in the materials.mtl file, and then go into the materials.csv file and add the name of the effect next to the appropriate texture. It may be a bit tricky with SF though because there are so many road textures. When doing this for add-on tracks it causes a lot of problems when more then one does it. You can really only have one add-on track in the mm2 folder at a time that uses custom effects; if you have more only one will actually have working effects.

I mean like, the Phyics? Like sliding the cars out in corners and skidding under braking in the rain/snow. I used to have lots of fun in mm1 with the F150 in the snow Razz

You can make surfaces slippery. You may be able to make it pretty realistic, I'm just not sure because I haven't fooled around with it much.

I'll give it a shot Wink
It's not all that hard.

edit: it seems there's no setting in the materials file for rain... It might be harder then I expected, but I'll see what else there is.

What do you mean "for rain"? Do you want to modify the rain? You can do that, but yeah, it might not be possible to get a realistic effect for slippery roads. I would still try though.

Ouch!
Don't you still have it installed or not?
I was looking forward to a solution for this!
