Just get rid of it and get free software, which just happens to be better than Norton.

I've got AVG Free and Comodo Firewall (free), not a single thing has gone wrong with my computer since I had it about a year ago. Seriously, that is the best option. You don't need to spend money on security. Take Norton, terrible.

It would be in your best interests to remove it and use free stuff. lol

I find the best option is using no antivirus.

I find it works even better when you go find the viruses and invite them over for dinner. They love a nice big bowl of RAM.

Not a bad idea. I've always had AVG work quite well for me Smile but if you're smart about what you do on the net, you should be fiiiine without antivirus. But yeah, I find AVG free worked better than the norton my parents bought Razz

How to turn off the firewall in a macintosh? I want my firewall to basically ask me permission before it let's pass through some applications i have. Better, how to turn ON the firewall to check only determinate applications?

System Preferences -> Security -> Firewall -> Unlock/Authorise -> Click 'Start'.

You'll then be prompted whenever something wants to talk to internetland for you to either allow or deny.
