I'm not an expert but have you tried to run the game with (I don't know if this is the right english word for it) 'compatibility-mode' on xp

I'm having the same problem. Which settings did you use? I've tried every combination of the audio device settings and I still can't get sound.

There should be an option in the audio device settings drop down menu that says: Speakers (your audio device)

So for example, mine is: Speakers (Realtek High Definition audio device)
Yours is probs summat else. But either way, it has to be the speakers option. If still no joy, see if you get hold of new audio drivers. Razz

EDIT:: Oh, and make sure the Sound FX option on the left is ticked. Wink

I dual boot Xp and Windows 7, and personally I haven't had any issues, my reasoning for requiring an older OS however is due to Windows Vista and 7 having latency while recording my voice while I am recording a video with fraps, for some odd reason both Vista and 7 records voice but with a 500ms to 1 second lag, which really isnt helpful when it comes to making tutorials or whatever.

for example, a 10 minute tutorial with voice, would end up as a 10 minute tutorial and the Voice decribing how to do things would be around a minute behind, with XP this issue doesn't exist.

plus the fact a backup OS is always handy, for an example, my windows 7 installation could become corrupt, I simply boot into XP and grab my files and then move them elsewhere prior to restoring the Windows 7 partition back to when I had freshly installed it.

problem solved, and no documents lost Razz

Oh I completely agree with that, I was simply pointing out his spelling error which technically changed the meaning of what he said. I dual booted XP and 7 for quite a while, myself Smile
