Well, I ripped out the fans and the controller, then it stopped working altogether. Because it was the CPU that overheated so quickly, I put the blame on that. It was a 3.06GHz one and I had a brand new 2.8Ghz one lying around so I shoved that in and BAM, it's alive. Very Happy I've put the fans and controller back in and it's all working just fine.

Btw, 120C? Surprised Mind you, it felt like it.

Thanks again everyone. Wink

Intel CPUs throttle back once they hit 100c .. Though for it to turn off after just 5 seconds .. Must've been something seriously upsetting for it!

Glad you got it sorted. Smile

Yeah true, my CPU in my laptop reaches 220f or 100c daily....... With a cooling pad.... The built in fan controller on the cpu is dumb because the speed it overheats at is too fast once the fan turns on at 85c. Else its off. I hope I can fix it I dont want it to burn out D:. It's already lost a hard drive. But it was a crappy toshiba hdd. This one has lasted longer already

It's a pine 320gb. It bangs alot tho its not the right size in length, its perfect width and thickness though.

I'm glad too! Although it's not the most 'kickass' of comps, I still want it running. But yeah, the CPU, I had a little ceremony for it before throwing it in the trash. Just the usual stuff, "You've served me well, rest in peace" kinda thing. I am pissed off though, because I'm going to be tempted to purchase another one now even though 2.8GHz will do me fine.

Btw, I'm in a strange mood. Wink Mr. Green
