Why till now nobody tried to learn mm3 files format? Recently I have bought X-Box and mm3, will connect X-Box to pc and copy the information from mm3 dvd to PC hdd. I can post here some files, like a mm3 cars in mm3 format and some textures. May be someone will start to do programs for mm3? And we can do new cars and citys for mm3?

EDIT:
www.mm3files.narod.ru/auditt_texture.rar
www.mm3files.narod.ru/cars.rar
www.mm3files.narod.ru/menu.rar
www.mm3files.narod.ru/ped_texture.rar

it's a good idea, but if it will actually get anywhere -- seeing as mm3 is basically dead around here, seeing as it is only for xbox

Game archives is checksummed, Live content is signed. We'll need to get past the integrity checks first. I'm trying to find a way to re-sign Live content. Most settings, gaming modes etc. are programmed in the powerful LUA language, menus are made in Dice's own Meme format, used since BF1942, so basically everything can be changed. Car meshes is similar to RalliSport meshes, but as for the textures I'm completly lost. The city archives are also signed with Microsft's nazi keys.

And your point is? Maybe we do this to have fun ourselvs, not to amuse you.

More like until people stop being consolephobes...

And there would be nothing stopping them from doing the same thing to the PC version. Look at Rallisport Challenge.

I think it's only for Live. I already repack Data_dvd.zip and it's work!
I replace Audi TT to some trafic car, it's work in menu (without textures), but don't work in game. I can post SS.

For what? We can copy mm3 to XBox HDD and run game from it. For Live we can use original dvd.

I remember on http://home.no.net/yallis/ik/mm3/ in mm3.txt you wrote

Any progress?

Did you try to open it? (*.pak) And what did you mean about Microsft's nazi keys?

They don't work because the model structures are presumably different.

He's talking about a way to use Live content on XBOXes that don't have it.

The problem with the cars not working is because they most likely don't share the same model structure.

Signed files.

Sounds great, MM3 must just be very picky about the ZIP format used then. Did you use WinZip, and what version?

I've made a tool that reads thoughout the file, but I'm not sure about the vertex chunks yet.

The .pak file is the content of the files, the .toc file is the table of contents for the archive. The toc is just a plain list of counters, offsets and file sizes, but I fear that the archive is encrypted. Probably by the .x-something-something file. I'll look into this again.

Edit: Holy snap, you're right. I've tried adding the Live content to the game archives by using WinZip now, and it worked. Cool

What the thoughout? Sorry, can not translate... You mean .cmp file?

How you think, what files contains in .pak files? City model files?
I precisely know, file contains tga textures for city. Need look into this more in details.

And what can you say about .xbc files?

www.mm3files.narod.ru/mm3_tt_replace_2.jpg
Trafic taxi model, without textures.

www.mm3files.narod.ru/mm3_tt_replace_1.jpg
As though I not try add default taxi texture, it dont work. Taxi in audi tt filder assign to audi tt texture.

you're right about amusing me, because, well, it won't amuse me, no xbox, etc..

i meant it more along the lines of how he was talking, he was talking of trying to do it with a bigger majority of people than just a few
