I apologise for going all political on you guys, but I am interested in your thoughts about this, and I know Yallis is too.

Now some time has passed and I hope that this will allow people to think somewhat rationally about this and not let emotions sway the poll results.

Also, I sincerely hope that none of you were directly affected by this terrible event and apologise if this re-opens old wounds.

I vote Bin Laden, though it was literally other members of the Taliban. While it was the American government's fault that no precautions were taken once they got word of the attack, to say that they brought the WTC down is ridiculous.

Bush wanted a reason to go after people whom were supposed 'terrorists' and wanted to get at oil. He had to use someone he knew was for sure crazy (being Bin Laden), to do the dirty work so that he had a reason.

To be quite honest I have mixed views on this topic. It's hard to hold one. I could explain my different thoughts on the matter as to what happened. For myself I cannot make a decisive decision as to what I'd like to go ranting about whenever this topic comes up.

HOWEVER, I still think that there was some involvement from the Bush administration directly or indirectly.

Well, I did recently watch a program that went "deep" into the discussion and apparently, if you analyze real close, you can see that when the planes hit the buildings, you can almost be sure to see small "bombs" at proportional distances at all the top floors. It's like when buildings are demolished using explosives. An event to support this is when the plane crashed into the empire state building, whose structure was made from old technology and still it stood.

I know that this isn't enough; I could write in more detail, but I'm a bit sleepy atm ...
So I guess this is something that proves Geof's point.

However, if we view all that Bush has done involving the Middle East, we can see that it basically gives him an overall negative look.

i heard earlier this week that some "member" of the Taliban has confessed that he was behind the Attacks of 11/9.
and that he was behind more of those actions, like the Bombing of Bali.
and that he and some others had planned more attacks on other buildings.
like the Empire State Building.

so i think that i can clearly say that Bin Laden or another High Officer in Al Quida did it.

Bush had nothing to do with it other than he was the president at the time and possibly missed some intelligence. The attacks were planned far before he was in office.

Very interesting, it seems as if a lot of people have bought the "official story". Personally, I think that Bush did it. Of course not Bush himself, but I would not be at all surprised if he was aware and actually gave the final order to go ahead.

_Tim_, your point is very interesting, I know that all of these conspiracy videos as well as the official story must be viewed with a critical mind. However, the timing of the collapses, as shown in both the official story and the conspiracy videos, strike me as very peculiar. The collapsing floors actually accellerate! As far as I understand physics, and this is not very far, I admit but, when the rubble from the top of the building hits the next floor, kinetic energy must be lost in order to demolish it. This would slow the collapse down. The only way to make the collapse of the buildings accellerate would be to make sure that these collisions never take place - meaning to make sure that when the rubble hits the next floor, this floor has already started to fall. And the only way to make that happen is to precisely time the cutting of support beams using explosives. These explosions are the explosions shown in the videos that Ammaar mentioned.

However, I am fairly convinced that the reason for this "attack" was only partially linked to "getting the oil" as Geof said. Those of us who read our Orwell knows what it is all about - power. Pure and unconditional power. And this is not electrical or even military power, it is the power to control people, all people.

EDIT: Spoop, I think that you may be right that the actual plan predates Bush, but I still think that our dear friend George W. gave the final order.
