Hello again.I'm a newbie at city editing.I made one simple city,so here it
is:
Along with that i got some problems with the textures-i assigned in Zmod
grass texture to faces from object Ground but in the game didn't come out
the right tex.The same with 3 buildings, which came transperent. You can
see that on the 3rd picture(those white things there).
I also plan to start building my home town but it'll take long time i think.

Couldn't do much on what i have planned about this small city so i came
with another idea for another city-larger,with possibility for traffic and
pedestriants and also with offroad terrain around it.So i'll post some pics
when i model some more of that city(buildings, traffic and street lights, offroad, trees and textures left.

That's not a bad start, ITN_Tuning. Are you using Maxoff's City Toolkit?

Yes,i used the City Toolkit, and led by Maxoffs tutorial at this side of the
forum.I tried few months ago with a simplier track but it didn't work, and here
is a bit complicated small town i came up with.
Edit:Here's the new thing i'm working on(top view). Not much progress.

Post subject: A new track project Reply with quote

Hi,again. That last project went to da trash.I'm back with another idea, for
now i have a blueprint and some roads built.I can show you only the bp
for now cause i'm at work and i don't have the track.z3d here on that comp.
My general idea of this one is to be a small town with a big offroad terrain
around it,some hills and mountains, and such things.
With red lines i've drawn the crosswalks to make the modeling a bit easier.
I'd be glad to see what you think about that idea.

p.s.I also have a question:Do i have to set numbers to ROADS_ objects?
Like ROADS1_,ROADS2_...?

It goes: ROADS_ ROADS_0 ROADS_1, etc.

Good luck. Please don't lose interest.

Thaks for the tip,and i think i won't lose interest makin' it.I wanted very
much to make my own track for MM2.Well i made one but it was crappy enough to start another, which was also crappy and now i came up with
this. And about the roads naming, that goes to the SW_,CW_ and IS_ too??

Everything after _ is only for you, MM2CT ignores it. So for roads, you can use names like:
- ROADS_main_road
- ROADS_long_street
- ROADS_home_street
etc

For intersections, you need index to group them. For example:
- IS1_intersection_between_main_road_and_long_street
- CW1_intersection_between_main_road_and_long_street
- SW1_intersection_between_main_road_and_long_street

All objects belong to one intersection must have the same number.

Here's some progress on my nameless track.I'm now creating the ground.
After that i'll start detaching and all other and try to port it to MM2 to see
if everything works. If it does,i'm starting with the buildings Smile

Hello all. After few unsuccessful tries for making a track for Midtown Madness 2
I decided to give another try.I made the roads and such, then i'll detach the
object to see if the thing werks.Hope it will.So here's a shot

(polycount 6000 )
And forgot to mention that every angle around the crosswalks is 90 degrees.
I made something like a template from a flat surface so i can use it for all
the intersections, crosswalks and sidewalks. If you have any ideas and/or
critics feel free to tell Smile
Updates will follow soon
