Loads and works for me.

Assuming by 'the site', you mean MM2C.

Well, this topic has been discussed several hundreds of times before, so to sum it all up, we (most of the old members) do not have enough time. Lives have become so busy that even thinking about posting or updating the page becomes cumbersome. So yeah, there basically isn't anyone, or any need to update lol Wink

I think the last post on the frontpage clearly explains what happened.

wait you're joking right...

do you know how much bandwidth alone MM2C must use per month. Even though the site has been not updated, lots of people still download the relics still laden on it. I would think that Ripp wouldn't go with Dreamhost or Bluehost though because those servers could slow down at times and loading times would be terrible for this kind of usage.

BTW, Ripp, what host are you with right now...for MM2c that is?

frihost allows 10gb of transfer a month...
how much does mm2c use?
plus, the users downloading relics were probably me.
i have been known to use up 500mb of download limit on cars alone.

Who said hosting is the problem? MM2C runs on a dedicated server with a 60GB HDD and room for 900GB of data transfer a month. On top of that, the ad revenue generated from the site still covers these costs. So, trust me, that is not the problem.

The problem is that I personally have moved on. As the one responsible for the birth and growth of this site and community, I have moved on. For me it is no longer worth it to spend the time and energy on maintaining it -- in my current position, I can't.

Many people have suggested to find someone else to run the show and I have always been open to that. However, the few people I find qualified for that have moved on as well.

Such is life.

Amazing how people could download... I remember launching a test site and clocked about 20GB of transfer in the first month.

10000/500MB = 20 users per month... error...

Honestly Marzez, I think MM2 is long gone. MMArchive [www.mmarchive.com] is a newer site that keeps up with MM2 downloads so you could check them out. Much newer games are out there so take a look. Wink
