You can get it to make a sound when you change into reverse.

Am I right in thinking some cars / buses / lorries have a sound in reverse?

Ask Stereo, he has done everything.

As far as I know it's handled by the same file which takes care of sirens, meaning it's a single file that has to list every active .ar you want to use the sounds.

The name of the file escapes me at the moment though.

Textures? You meen Aud, surely?

Yes there was one the Routemaster and on the citybus. Did not suit them IMO.

You know on some cars&buses when you put it into reverse gear and it makes the gear change couldn't you add it onto that file.

sometimes they are just audio files you can open in Sound Recorder then effects reverse if thats what you mean
you can also make it louder softer add and ecoh and make them faster or slower

Hey,
I probably can answer to your questions :
Yes you can create textures&sounds which can be released when you engage a reverse key. (I have used it on the MBZ Citaro G bibus (bendy bus).)
How does it work ?

Sound :
You create and put the reverse sound in the folder aud\aud22 of the vehicle. You can call it as you like.
In order to the reverse sound is released by the game, you have to define its properties in the .csv files.
The two .csv files are in aud\cardata\opponent and in aud\cardata\player.
They have the name of the vehicle. They often take the form of a Excel file but if you use it to open them and modify, you can not save in a .csv format.
So open them using wordpad or Blocnote. My advice is to open them with wordpad (for modifiactions) and with Excel (for a better view of the lines and numbers that you want to modify).

If we consider that you are modifing a .csv file of a vehicle which has a horn, replace the Horn file name of this vehicle by your file name.
Then save, and do the same/or copy and paste this for the second .csv file in the second folder.

textures:
Peurhaps it is a little more complicated because you have to open and modify the 3D model (.pkg file).
In Zmodeler, create a group of faces and textures to put on them.
But you have not to link these faces to BODY_H as you do usualy, but you have to re-name this group of faces : RLIGHT_L.

Arrow !! Warning !! : The faces which belong to RLIGHT_L group appears with a white, translucide, transparent color !
I have dicorved it when i tried to create animated openning doors which release when you press the reverse key. It's not very aesthetic ! Sad
Arrow And MM2 dislike RLIGHT_L faces on a trailer !! It crash the game !
