I know the forum has some issues with the Today/Yesterday mod in which when showing Today/Yesterday it can only display it along with a predefined timestamp, which is currently h:i a (08:49 pm). However, I use the timestamp d M Y H:i (05 Aug 2008 20:49) and so does most of the world so I think this default format should be changed to d M Y H:i.

It's not a stretch, the default a while back was similar. I have to admit I can't stand having to look at a.m. and p.m., which is why I changed my date format in the first place. I can only view my format after two days, which is when the mod no longer has effect.

Cliffs: I'm from the US, I don't use the US time format because it sucks, and I'm forced to view it anyway because of the Today/Yesterday mod. Requesting default format change that would adhere to the majority of the planet's norm.

In my opinion, it's fine the way it is. But if this is to be considered, you should make it a poll, just to see if people would prefer that Wink
I'm kind of indifferent about it, though. As long as the new posts icon is there, I'm happy. Razz

I like the current better only because it's what I've been using since I first learned how to tell time. I don't see any problem with it being switched though.

I wonder if there's a way both can be recognized by the hack or not... depending on which you use? The hack is as old as the board, so there must be a newer one out there that would support any timestamp by now. That would be preferable because it would please everyone. Hmm.

The problem is that I'd need to write some code that tries to detect your date related characters and replaces it with the Today/Yesterday notation, without touching the time related characters and let it still make sense.

It's doable, but it's not done in a couple of minutes. I'll look at some places and see if someone updated the hack.
