Post subject: Problems with road Reply with quote

I made a city/map with a few houses and some roads.

But my roads are on the "GROUND_". Then I wanted to create normal roads, like in:
SF, London, UK Bus City, Stinger City, ...and lots more

I followed this tutorial:

http://forum.mm2c.com/viewtopic.php?t=11617

I created the road with sidewalk (ROADS_), and moved the sidewalk a bit higher. I assasignt the the textures, and I assasignt just the rmain to ROADS_, but I have all textures of the tutorial in my material editor.

In ZM it looks good (don't ask why I have the bus addet in my map, thats just a test):

But in MM2 are just roads and when I drive on them, I fall down. And all my buildings are dissapeared. And why is the street grey? That's the wrong texture.

I made a video, you can see my problem in it. (I hope to post videos isn't illegal in MM2C):

http://www.domi.triopsi.de/Downloads/myproblem.wmv

I tested it with new maps, too, but there is everytime I create "ROADS_" the same map, with same size and streets.
It would be great if I can create roads.

Jeez I don't know I'm still busy coming up with answers for all your other questions... Cool

Nah it's good that you're trying, but you are just working faar too much - as if mm2 is obsession (then again I can't speak).

Slow down! Haha!

Well done for coming thus far, and I don't have a answer because I'm not into the city building business.

Yet. Very Happy Who knows? Manchester Bus City might be on the way. Very Happy

In other words you don't have a bloody clue and just posted that for no reason Neutral

I guess that you have inconsistent perimeter points and areas are not connected correctly. Please show us your wireframe and names of the objects.

Objects:

GROUND_
ROADS_
PH1_
PB1_
PA1_
PH2_
PB2_
PH3_
PB3_

Ok, here is my wireframe (top view):

Thank you for answering all my questions, but if I know how to create roads, I don't ask so many questions. Just 1-2 per month, because of problems or things like that.

You can't use the ROADS_ object all by itself (can you? It never worked for me), it needs to have the other objects for sidewalks, crosswalks, etc. It is used for traffic and to have working traffic you must have 3 roads and 2 intersections, and those intersections must be split up correctly into the needed objects before exporting.

As--I think--maxoff has said to you, check out the Objects Description and Simple City making tutorial.

If you want to have roads without traffic on your city, you can use the ROAD_ object, it doesn't need any other objects to work.

Sorry for double post, but I just had to restart MM2CT. I had it running for 1-2 weeks. I don't know why this problem appeared, but it's finally working.

ok... the problem might be that the roads are not connected together, mm2ct cant make a traffic car fall in the hell, so first complete all the intersection and then try the city.
