Post subject: Tools to recompress ZIP and creating AR files. Reply with quote

1. re_zip is BAT script that allows to re-compress ZIP archives to reduce size.
The compression is little better than 7-zip with maximum ZIP settings but it takes more time.
For input ZIP use simple file name without spaces and other special characters.
Run from command line (read readme.txt file how to install).

2. zip2ar tool allows to create AR files from ZIP archives. It will create AR file in original MM2 format.
Size of result AR file in most cases will be smaller than initial ZIP.
Run from command line or use drag-and-drop.

3. zip2ar_lock tool makes locked AR file.
Run from command line or use drag-and-drop.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OH2ZBQVX

Results of re-compressing original mm2core.ar file from MM2:
21 430 272 bytes (100%) - original size
All files were extracted from mm2core.ar
12 186 663 bytes (56.89%) - after 7zip compression (zip, Ultra, Deflate, 32KB, 258)
12 143 010 bytes (56.69%) - after re_zip
11 181 826 bytes (52.18%) - after zip2ar
11 344 143 bytes (52.94%) - after zip2ar_lock

4. ar_extract allows to extract files from Midtown Madness and Midnight Club games.
Tested with MM1, MM2, MC1, MC2 and MC3 archives.
It's sort of try to make all-in-one tool to replace deAr, deAr2, iRipper and unzip.
Works from command line or with mouse drag-and-drop.

5. zip2dat is like zip2ar tool, it allows to create DAT files for Midnight Club 2 in original format. For MM2 it is useless.
Works from command line or with mouse drag-and-drop.

you'll have a backup, with that tool you simply drag and drop your zip to the program which makes an AR, the zip remains intact Wink

It's quite obvious that he wishes to UNlock rather than just lock, no backup? please...

Mike, This forum and a lot of it's members have been here for a VERY long time and we have seen it all here, People asking for unlocked stuff, Or methods to unlock and all the time the answer is the same "You Don't"

That Zip to AR lock Automatically Makes an AR when you drag and drop a zip file into the program, It's the same kind of locker that Man1333 Presumably uses and is therefore not unlockable.

But in the event that you Are telling the truth, then you will have a backup in the form of a zip ( the one you created in order to drag into the application Wink )
