Hi, it's me again! I have a problem. I have had a go at making some animated destination blinds, like on the Yorks Rider ones, but when I open the bus in-game, when the blinds are meant to be, I see the passenger side texture. Screenshot:

yer I think you open notepad and enter the Desty filename, and with each following image to make it animated you need to add -0001 to the file.

so Desty_1 would also have Desty_1-100, Desty_1-101, Desty_1-102 and so on, i might be wrong but its as close to understanding it as I can get Laughing

edit. forgot to mention you need to save the txt file as a .mov

Open Notepad.

Type in rate 0.2 for a switching LED blind.

save it as [texturename].movie.

The textures should be as follows:

[texturename]-0001.tga/bmp
[texturename]-0002.tga/bmp
[texturename]-0003.tga/bmp
[texturename]-0004.tga/bmp and so on depending on how many different via points you are going to have.

[texturename] would be for example blindtex_1.tga. On the .movie file do not put blindtex_1.tga.movie, just blindtex1.movie, then save it into the TUNE folder of the .ar.

Good luck. Wink

In all honesty, I think that is pretty cool.

Thanks to everyone, but it's still not working. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?:

First I edit the Destination blind texture file

Then I open up Notepad, type 'rate 2' then Save As 'texturename'.movie

I then open the *.ar file of the bus and click & drag the *.movie file into the *.ar file's tune folder

WinRar asks me if I want to update the archive, so I select 'Yes'

I close WinRar and copy & paste the *.ar file into the MM2 directory.

Open the bus in-game, and I get the screenshot that is shown in the first post.

Am I doing something wrong? Embarassed Confused

are the texture files the correct file type? Typically TGA or 24 bit bitmap's are used for textures, if editing the textures in Paint.net or Photoshop are you saving the textures with ( RLE ) Compression enabled? if so, save again but don't compress, also make sure if your using bitmaps that they are 24 bit only, mm2 dislikes 32 bit bmp textures lol

it may also be that you havent assigned the textures correctly in ME ( Material Editor ) , try selecting the faces that you are using for blinds and detatch them from the body and try reassigning Wink

Say for example you had these;

desty-0001.tga
desty-0002.tga
desty-0003.tga
desty-0004.tga

you would need to texture the destination board in a texture called

desty.tga

To get this file I just copy desty-0001 and rename it.

export the vehicle...

Then, go into the tune folder and go insert, new, text document.
name it desty.movie

inside, type "rate 4" (without ""), changing 4 to however many frames per second(?)

then save it, making sure it saves as a .movie file.

Then, remove desty.tga from the file, and make the folders into a .ar file.

Also make sure that in Zmod the material for the blind is just desty and doesn't have 0001 on the end and then when you make the ar delete the desty.tga

It probably because I haven't changed the compression to off from when I made some destys for CBS 2010

::EDIT:: It still doesn't work! Confused

Could you not just use a animated GIF? Save it as the old route texture?

That's how I thought you would of done it!
