(Googled/searched the crap out off what im trying to do so ... dnt start arguing with me)


Im doing a map comvert i have the map im doing as a object in 3ds/zmodler

Iv followed all the tutorials and posts i can find to get this bloody file into the game

i have a PKG version ( inside labled H M L VL BODY BOUND )

I tryed to make a 3DS to import into mm2ct (inside named GROUND_ no need for traffic/roads on this map)

some help would be loved =)

i have managed to get my AR file to load it as PKG without crash but cant locate model =/

Hello Mtx_devitt,

Firstoff, welcome to the MM2c forums! Second, the objects arent named Body H M L VL BOUND. there are 2 things that you can do:

Name the objects GROUND_ if it has no detaching

but I recommend naming it this:

PH1_ for the track and copy the track, and name that object BOUND

Hey thanks i was once a user of MM2 a good 8/9 years ago and found love in the game again =).

Theres proberly a few more things i need to understand in map making

The idea i was trying to go for was as follows:

-PSDL with one big flat block

-Converted map as object file (PKG) fitting the block

- Place map as object and drive .. but failed

I did this with no crash but couldent find the object or even colision zones

My understanding was that internal of a PKG must have the H V L M ect


I also atempted to name whole object as " GROUND_ " in ZModeler and then to import the 3ds to convert to PSDL
wich gave the usual error ppl seem to get " unworkable file ect"

Is there a quite simple tutorial i could look at?

Basicly since i left MM2 map making has advanced beyond what i cud expect and i need to be part of it =)

Could do! thats basicly all the help i need. you can also tell me where i went wrong haha
Right now i have massive block PSDL
and a basic version of the map without the textures attached

but gettin textures on there isent any kind of issue , apart from there all in jpg atm so some conversion needed

Have a MSn for futher chat?

Try calling the City object (you know the textured and detailed one) H. Just H. Then the bound, BOUND. Thats what most of the Chinese bus cities are called.

(You get nowhere from not studying things so before you start shouting *filthy n00b hacker c00nt* I did it pretty much to help myself, nobody else.)

hello mate. your dead on, the Bus maps , and some of the Riva racer converts is the way im trying to do this , (thinking its proberly the easyest method)

So am i ment to extract 2 different PKG's one with internal as " H " other as " BOUND "

or'

Do i create one PKG with just them too inside?

Also when creating the H M L VL (ect) version I wasent sure but i asumed some of the names needed wer assential for MM2 to reconize the stucture and collision (i know about the extra needed bound folder and files)
and others you could pass as a extremely lowpoly serface

(messed around all ways to fail still lol)

Is there anything that MM2 is picky about in map making that i NEED to know?
