Hi, I'm new on the forums here and was wondering if there was anyway of editing the locked HK buses *.ar files. I Will Not Do This To Any English Work, as this is unfair, I just want to edit some of the HK Buses.

theres ALWAYS a way to modify stuff, chances are no one would tell you though because they are locked for a reason, to prevent modifications made to the buses.

if I released any more buses ( I intend to ) they would be locked and quite rightly so.

They are indeed locked for a reason. This is, of course, to prevent people like us from changing things by people like them. I agree with what you are saying in a way, and also, I think the HK community should harmonize more with us, and maybe there wouldn't be so many language restricted heated arguments like there is at the moment.

Agreed.
Although I think he means he wants to edit the ar's made by some of the authors that you are no longer able to contact or can't because they speak other languages? Correct?

Exactly what I mean. I know there are some authors out there which you just can't contact, meaning you can't get their *.ar files. I just want to edit them and even inpect what's in them becuase I may have a go at modelling my self.

I think the better idea is to not modify them, and learn how to model by studying wireframe images of buses ( there are plenty on mm2c in the post your project section )

the amount of times ive got a man1333 bus and thought "this needs changing, that needs changing, this needs the photo windows removed and real 3d interior put in" etc etc.

but of course they are locked to prevent this.

once youve had practice with modelling, try to grab some blueprints off google. Razz
