http://www.mafia2game.com/

Demo was released a few days ago, the release of the retail game will be near the end of August. Anyone tried this yet? Got screenshots?

I'll start then...

Some woman over at Sand Island was selling this beat up piece of junk for 20 bucks, so I went over and took a look.

Seemed fine mechanically, had potential. I took it off her hands.

Took it over to the shop to get it fixed up.

Had the bodywork repaired, put new wheels on it and tuned up the sluggish engine, which was in need of a good service. Went to pick it up when it was finished, cost around $1400 altogether.

Got home and had a better look at it.

A few days later I decided to put my mark on it and went and bought a personalized license plate. Called in for fuel on the way back, then took it through the car wash.

By this time I was pretty hungry, so I decided I'd call in to the diner just up the hill from the house.

But when I got there, the place had been robbed or something from what I heard, and the Police were there questioning the lady behind the counter.

I decided I'd best just go home and have food there...

Apologies to the non-Americans for the American terms and spellings, I just copied and pasted this from an American forum which I'd posted this to beforehand.

1950's version of Second Life? lol, nice. Smile

Edit: Just downloaded the demo on 360, pretty neat, if a little short.

Yah I got it on steam last night, loved every second of it, I even went and downloaded a trainer which stops the 10 minute timer which means unlimited access to the streets in the demo city.

Just got the game for £29.99 today for the Xbox 360. I tried it and it's amazing. Very realistic, especially the handling for the vehicles when it's snowing, and, amazingly, I haven't got round to driving a bus on it yet, although I've seen loads!

You're a muppet for buying the console version lol, not only are the console versions more expensive but they lack some features and of course you can't/it's very difficult to mod them. To see the full features and benefits you really need the PC version.

That is unless your computer isn't very good of course... then I'd see your point in buying the console version.

Aw thanks! Laughing The PC I have is an Acer Aspire 5536. Mafia 2 Demo didn't run cleanly, which is quite often the case with CBS 2010 aswell Sad
Sometimes even MM2 lags Rolling Eyes

Yup. Great game from what I've played so far. My only compaints are the facial animations during cutscenes, which normally I wouldn't care about, but with so many games doing a great job at it lately, it is really noticeable and distracting. That, and the cars use pre-modelled damage. I hate it when you crash a car and it looks the same every time. GTA4 did impact based damage years ago, why are other games released afterwards still using pre-modelled?! Rolling Eyes

I used to be a big PC gamer, but I've moved to consoles lately. Xbox can produce just about as great graphics, without the need for patches, adjusting graphics menus, and other pc related issues. Just put the game in and go. I don't have time to troubleshoot a non working game on pc anymore, or to buy newer hardware when the game won't run smoothly. By time I adust the settings, the xbox version most likely looks better anyways heh.

First game I know of to do this was Carmageddon, in 1997. As well as perhaps being the first sandbox game.
