How is it a useful topic? Newbies aren't gonna want to fart about with software such has Hamachi, Voobly etc. It's more a case of the opponent giving you their IP address and you typing it in to MM2. Wink

Also, you put your comma in the wrong place.

I agree, Hamachi is so fiddly and uses more resources than is necessary, The last thing anybody wants when playing games online, Is more programs connecting to the internet and wasting valuable bandwidth that could go towards hosting/joining a game.

Just go to google and type "what is my ip" Rolling Eyes

There's even a thread on mm2c telling you what ports require forwarding

( I know this can be a bit of a pain to do but trust me it's worth doing considering you only forward the ports once rather than have to set up a room with Hamachi everytime you want to cruise )

I removed Hamachi ever since I found my computer waking up by itself in the middle of the night. Virtual Private Networks are very dangerous, in my opinion. Anybody here try GameRanger? Its simple and easy to use. It also has NAT - Traversal, which conceals your external IP Address and allows you to join games without having to open any ports. Smile

Laughing Thumbs Up

I stopped using Hamachi/Voobly ever since they didn't work for me. Or maybe I didn't work for them, either way. Rolling Eyes

Top post Gizmo. Thumbs Up

And yeah, there is certain people on my contact list where MM2 just will not find them even though they have forwarded the necessary ports required. So the alternative in that case seems to be Game Ranger. Which reminds me, new install of Windows, I must go and download it. Wink

I've used Hamachi a few times before and it was trouble free. Set up was a breeze also, with essentially none required. Though I am on a Mac ..

This guy is sad, registers at an MM2 enthusiast forum just to advertise his program (although it is good). Neutral

I posted here to help people. I've done similar things for other classic game communities as well.
