Post subject: RDF Syndication Reply with quote

We now offer forum content syndication for anyone who would like to keep an eye on the latest threads at the Midtown Madness 2 Central Forum. This syndication can also be used with the popular multimedia Instant Messenger; Trillian Pro with the News/RSS Plugin.

You can find it at http://forum.mm2c.com/rdf.php

  • Usage Instructions:

You can specify the number of posts via the url parameter c:

    http://forum.mm2c.com/rdf.php?c=50

This will result in an RDF file with the latest 50 posts from all your forums.

You can also specify to look only at a specified forum using the f parameter:
    http://forum.mm2c.com/rdf.php?f=9

This will result in an RDF file with the latest 15 posts from your forum with the id 9.

You can also mix the parameters:

    http://forum.mm2c.com/rdf.php?f=5&c=10

Will show you the latest 10 posts from forum 5.

Would it be possible to make this work as a replacement for email notifications? That I can make such a query for all threads I'm monitoring?

EDIT: Or is that what you mean with your forum?

fre_ber - Yes, sorry about that. The instructions are just a copy/paste from the readme. Your forums would mean the MM2C Forums Smile

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I don't get any notifications at all...

Here are my settings and they work fine. I disabled notification else your screen will be filled with notifications once it reloads. You're not notificated instantly, but it is refreshed after a certain period.

Strange...

Off-Topic: What command allows you to take a screenshot of only that window?

Ahh.. It was the slashes that confused me. Now it works... But I get notifications for all MM2C threads, not just the ones I am monitoring...

Oh, but then you misunderstood my question before. What I wanted was just to be notified of new posts in the threads I'm monitoring... Some people are never satisfied, eh? Wink

Aaah, I don't think I ever answered that question. But it would be quite hard to do and impossible through this Trillian Pro News feed. Somehow you'd need to let the program login or something .. Confused

Ah, you are right, didn't think about that... You could make a script that overrides the logging in, but that wouldn't be very good. What I mean is that the php page that returns the new messages doesn't have to be logged in as the user in question. It could access the database directly. But I know how you feel about this kind of modding... Great until the next release of phpBB... Wink
