you should look into just draging around the vertices you made.

It isn't that easy, (fre_ber, correct me if I am wrong), a PSDL has different types of attributes, e.g. a road, divided road, sidewalk etc. Dragging around vertices isn't that simple. A PSDL also has a list of neighbouring blocks .. it's too complex just to drag things around.

Heh, I just noticed that there is dirt flying up from the wheels of the Delorean. As far as I know, that's something that has not been working in any other cities. Very nice!

Obviously, since other cities do not use a PSDL as a ground. I assume the material list in MM2 only works for PSDL's.. which would be the most obvious thing.

Correct me if I am wrong.. again Wink

Most of the different types are just for getting better compression, right? If so, you could make a filter for ZModeler that just exports everything as triangles, and vertices, to make it easier to use, but have worse compression.

That depends on your definition of "compression". Wink

The different primitives do different things, and yes you can optimize the model of the terrain by using the correct primitives (attributes). But there is more to it than that - several of the primitives are not that primitive. For example you can use a single primitive to make a complete road with sidewalks and everything just byt defining cross-sections of the road.

It would indeed be possible to make a city with only triangles, but, that would probably make the city poorly optimized and game-play might be too slow. Also you would have to manually define every sidewalk next to each road segment.

(Also I can't make a filter for ZModeler, I don't know how. But someone else could... Smile )

Erm, release what?

LOL, that "track" only consists of four square patches of grass, four straight road segments and the crossing itself... Wink

Edit: The other three pictures are of a larger terrain, in fact so large that I fear that it will never be completed... Sad

Oh. Confused

Are you going to make a track out of it? Wink

Possibly, but in fact I would prefer to see all of you guys making terrains instead - you seem to have all the good ideas about what to put in a new city. And I am just too lazy... Sad

Well, if it has a interface like SimCity or something for roads, then I'd make one. Smile

Ouch, I don't think we will see that kind of "high level" editors for MM2 soon, maybe never... Sad

Awesys - The crosssection isn't much bigger than the thing you see in the picture. Of course it can be made much bigger, but what's the use?

Coolguy001 - Are you loading a PSDL file yet? Also, it depends on your system and memory how fast everything loads. It takes some seconds to load sf.psdl on a PII350 with 384 mb SDRAM.

Strange, but maybe the configuration file is incorrect or missing? It should be in the same directory as the jar file.

The configuration file tells the program wich windows to open.

Edit: Toolbar? Don't you mean menu bar? There is no toolbar in my program... Wink
