I support you Ripp. You've done more for this gaming community that anyone I could name, and I'm sure I'm not the only one grateful for that.

I emailed Microsoft too, but you know how they are, I got the exact same reply that Bas got.

Why are we arguing over this? Do you argue over deciding whether to kill your grandparents because they're old and are no longer interesting? No. I'm sure everyone understands that it's UNOFFICIAL but they're just in denial. If the site is inevitably doomed, let's just enjoy the remaining time we have here, all right? Let's not turn this into "going out on a bad note" like so many other forums have done.

The fact that some people can't think of others before themselves is a little disgusting. Who cares if it's your home site? Who cares if you'll have nowhere else to go but don't want to leave the darkness of your log cabin *cough* Roadie *cough*. Find another site. It's SO simple. Unbelievably simple.

In short, support the people that have done something for you and have gotten nearly nothing in return. Support everyone that has helped this community become a popular game (well, a year ago; maybe not now). And don't be so pessimistic, it's not good for your health. Rolling Eyes

How do I miss threads like this? Oh my...

Anywyas, I would like ot start off by thanking Rippance. He's done an extreme amount og hard work for the MM2 comunity. Let's face it, many of us wouldn't be in the position we're in now it it wasn't for MM2C.

I'm glad to hear so many want this site to keep on going forever (well, atleast another year), but you all need to think about the good times we have had right here. I love these forums, I visit every day, on a good day I'm here about 3-4 times.

A big part of my daily routine would go down the drain if MM2C were to dissapear. And to think of the amount of help that has been given/taken at these very forums. A handfull of the members here (eg. fre_ber) knows more about MM2 then the people that developed it Razz

The last thing I want to see is the day www.mm2c.com displays: "Page can not be displayed"...

I stand behind the crew here at MM2C, wether it be Rippance, Charger, Bonfire or any of the senior members. I may not be much help in the financial department, but I'll do everything in my powers to help this site. No mater what Rippance decides, I know everybody here will help him out.

Good job Rippance!

Well, yeah, all of what's in front of you was done by Rippance in his own spare time. None of us pay him to do this. Stuff like that can't last forever...Rip has a life and his own opinions...why am I saying this...you all know that already.

hey here's a possible idea (bearing in mind it is just an idea).... how about a pay scheme where the regular people could pay a small charge to use the forums - sorta like a subscription thing.

Say something like $5 US (whatever the equiv is in british, dutch and any other currency) a month or something?

Don't really know how many people would actually like the idea but I know if this was seriously considered, then I know for one that I'd subscribe.

But at the end of the day, this site is run by Rippance in his spare time so it's up to him whatever happens if MM3 isn't released for the PC.

I'm gonna stand behind Rippance and the rest of the MM2C team and wish them good times in whatever they choose to do.

Not many people would pay, I don't think...when they can go elsewhere for free. I might pay, but I don't think Rip wants it to come to that, as money is not the core problem here.

i was thinking if MM3 didn't come to the pc, then it was an idea to help Ripp - if he wanted - to make himself a bit of money and help him run his site.

Sorta thinking of it from a business point of view where you make money to cover your costs with a profit afterwards.

(I studied GCSE Business Studies at High School - got a C- which wasn't very good Sad )

Yeh, but Rip isn't closing the site due to funding. He's closing it due to lack of interest.

The equation is simple: 1/2 as many visitors means 1/2 as much revenue from ads, which means half as much money to pay for the hosting Wink

Erm, first of all, /me doesn't work here, only on irc Neutral Second, I highly doubt that Bill Gates knows anything about MM3 (except that it's called Midtown Madness 3), Microsoft only publish the game.

And third, Bill Gates doesn't have any money, it's all a big scam Wink
