Yeah, if MM3 really isn't comnig out on the PC, then i will use my modding skills on Half Life 2 and make a game pretty similar to MM3. Just a city where you can drive round it, crash cars, get out of cars, and it will be pretty easy with the HL2 engine.

Do you think this is a good idea?

Why? The project isn't going to be very big. No story mode or anything. Just cruise mode.

I have a mod team aswell....

Also I think that you have to the change mm3 name because you cannot call it that. As Jason said it will take months and lots of work. But Good Luck. Embarassed

Yeah, I'm not going to call it Midtown Madness 3. It will be called something else. It's just the game itself will be like it.

It might sort of be more like Driver though, with the getting out of cars and maybe shooting.

If they can get out of the cars, and if it's more like Driver, than it isn't MM3.

@ Jaguar: Yes, I know it will take a long time, but I am very devoted to this. It is one of my favourite games of all time, and I think that it will work well with the Half Life 2 engine. And, like I said before... it isn't going to be a very big game. Only 1 city, and no modes apart from cruise (possible checkpoint races if it goes well).

@ Canibuz: The half life 2 engine hasn't been released yet, but I have done modding on the half life 1 engine, and so have most of my team. One member has a LOT of experience and has worked with every aspect of lots of mods.

@ mm123: Well, you may think that. But I have seen how much work Valve have put into the vehicle physics engine, and i think that it will satisfy the car physics that I have in mind.

@ everyone else: Thanks, I will try my hardest to get this done. But this isn't 100% sure to happen, their might be restrictions that mean this isn't going to work. But from what I have seen so far it looks like it is.

And infact, I could just do it as a series of maps. A mod wouldn't really be necessary. Different maps for different sections of the city that link together.
