looking at the videos of hl2, i can see they already have vehicles in the game, but whether the phisics are the best for a driving game, i dont know.. i know from the current hl engine its not made for driving at all.
Too early to know.

I would kiss you if you would really realize that !!!

The Engine of MidMad2 is just too weak, especially the 16-Bit-Limit and with the Physics of HL2 it would probably be possible.

What I am really missing in MidMad 2 is a real Pursuit-Mode for MultiPlay, like you can play it in SinglePlay the SF StuntSchool. I mean a Duell against another Player with equal cars.

Why don't you start a Race against the AngelStudios with your MOD - Who provides a playable BETA first ???

Well, Half-Life 2 is out now, and I've learnt how to map pretty well. I have Visual Studio .NET 2003, which is the tool needed to compile MODs. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at programming yet.

If I can get a programmer, a modeller and a texture artist to help, then work could start on this. If people aren't interested, then there isn't really much point.

And, if bumping really old topics is bad, sorry. I thought it would be OK seeing as this thread is about exactly the same thing.

So, is anyone able to help? If there is interest, I'll start mapping to show a sample of what it could be like.

if i were you, wait for hl2 rally to be released and mod that.

I know. I'm not claiming that I have any progress made yet. I am starting out now, and if this project is going to go ahead, we need these people now. Every mod has to start somewhere, and I'm starting here and now Wink

Hmm... you can't really mod a mod, because all the code of that mod is owned by the creator of that mod, and you can't edit their stuff without special permission. But if it weren't for that, it would have been a good place to start.

Funny you don't seem as confident as the last thing you said before this post. And we have yet to see progression shot or even hear of any progression at all.

Ok, seeing as no one is interested, I won't start this mod. I'm doing a Grim Fandango mod instead, and people actually volunteered for that one Razz.

I really hate to bump this thread, but guys, this type of thing exists and I do it all the time. Get Garrys Mod for HL2 (it lets you build and run around spawning random objects).

Download some cars (they have tons)

Get one of the maps that is a huge city

Load the map, spawn a car, maybe play on a server, and race! (And then create zombies to run over or something, or shoot eachother)
